Make a donation
Run Free Foundation’s goal is to make the most of each donation. Every dollar will make a huge difference to our runners, who may not have the financial means to run their goal race. We want to help them achieve their goals with your help.
We have three options for donations. We want to make sure the money you donate goes to that cause. All donations are tax-deductible. Run Free Foundation is an Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3) organization, and donations are deductible under IRC Section 170.
RFF Runner Scholarship
100% of Runner Donations go directly to supporting runners. This will help with food, lodging, and travel expenses, which often limit participation for runners with financial challenges.
Nonprofit Operational Expenses
This includes insurance, website maintenance, attendance at running conferences (i.e., TrailCon), etc. No donations will personally benefit Run Free Foundation Board Members.
Small Endurance Event Scholarship
These donations will help fund scholarships for small endurance races that don't receive the support or opportunities of a well-known race. We want to help keep these races alive. They are the heart and soul of the trail community.
One of our goals to help struggling small endurance races is to create a Race Directors Hub in Northern California. This will be a shared space where we can combine resources, produce our own clothing and awards, and help create a stronger endurance community through collaboration. This could create several part-time-to-full-time positions for a Regional Volunteer Coordinator, a Production Manager, and a Regional Media Manager. The Hub could also provide timing, photo/video, and other services to help raise funds for the RFF Runners Scholarship.
Current plans are to purchase a laser cutter/engraver, DTF Screen Printer, and other supplies to provide Race Directors’ gear at the cost of materials. The equipment and materials setup is $15,000 and will be purchased through xTool, the leader in laser cutting. These machines will be used by the Run Free Foundation to process donor gifts at minimal cost and to create a unique setup for outreach events.
